She has lived in the same town her entire life, despite her father’s career in the United States Air Force. She and her husband, Bo, share their home with three rescue dogs—Dixie, Ellie, and Remy—as well as their beloved Maltese companions, Penelope and Piper.

A graduate of the class of 1995, she completed nursing school in 2003. In her free time, she enjoys grilling, watching football, and embracing the friendly rivalry of a "house divided," with Bo as a devoted Alabama fan and herself cheering for Auburn.

Though she does not currently attend church, her faith remains a central part of her life as a devoted Christian. She believes in embracing life’s imperfections and supporting others on their journeys.
